Heather Davulcu, of April Heather Art, designed the 2018 Mushroom Festival souvenir t-shirt. Her Mushroom Wreath is filled with her unique take on the region’s commercially grown mushrooms.
Heather is known for how she draws every day women, every day-ish. She is inspired by the beauty of diversity and strives to illustrate empowered women in all walks of life. Having studied fashion design and costume history in college, Heather worked for a short time in costume design before embarking on a mural painting business in Austin, Texas. After moving to the East Coast and becoming a mom, Heather’s work transitioned from murals into illustration and licensing. From fabric and greeting cards, to home decor and giftware, Heather’s work has appeared on many products in the marketplace. Her designs have been found at Pier One, Joanne’s, Michael’s, Wayfair, and currently on greeting cards at Trader Joe’s. In addition, she has illustrated 3 coloring books and runs 2 busy etsy shops. Heather is married to her college sweetheart for 25 years and is the proud mom of 2 girls, ages 19 and 16.
