Dear Friends,

Mushroom Festival weekend in Kennett Square is a fantastic sight to see as the Borough transforms overnight from a quaint small town to a busy, crowded, bustling celebration of mushrooms.

Festivities start with our hometown Community Parade on Friday evening and by 10 am Saturday morning the Mushroom Festival Street Fair is in full swing! Tents line the streets and buses drop off thousands of guests at the entrances who then stroll through Kennett Square for shopping, eating, learning about mushrooms and having fun. All of this is possible because of the support of our sponsors.

Planning is underway for our 32nd Annual Mushroom Festival. As we do every year, we look at what was successful and work to improve where needed. It is still too early to reveal the details for this year’s event, but it will be filled with old time favorites and a few new surprises.

We just wrapped up our annual Mushroom Festival grant program as we awarded $85,000 to 51 local non-profit organizations. The grants spread throughout the community and help people all year . This brings our total of grants and donations given to the community to $890,000 since 2000.

Sponsorship opportunities for 2017 are detailed in this booklet. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Mushroom Festival office at 610-925-3373.

It is with the support of our community, the dedication of our volunteers and the commitment of our sponsors that we owe our success. I would like to thank you for your continued support over the years and am looking forward to working with you again this year.

See you on September 9 and 10 for our 32nd Celebration, where as this year’s slogan says– “There’s Mushrooms Galore and so Much More!”

Sincerely,

Kathi Lafferty
Mushroom Festival Coordinator
